WHAT I DO

I’m interested in the environment, social justice, cultural change and other ideas about making our world a better place.

I’m a PhD Candidate at UNSW and Lecturer with the Environment and Humanities Group in the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture at UNSW.

My PhD Research is investigating Sydney’s urban commons and the social solidarity economy. You can read more about my research here.

WORK HISTORY

Until October 2020 I was UNSW’s Director for Safety and Wellbeing.

I’ve also served as UNSW’s first Director for Sustainability. Prior to that I was a UNSW Legal Counsel.

I was a UNSW staff representative on the UNSW Council from 2014-2020 and also served on the Audit Committee.

Before UNSW I worked for Deloitte, the NSW Ombudsman’s OfficeTurner Freeman Lawyers, trade unions as an organiser and research officer (mostly with the LHMU, now the United Workers Union, but also for the PSA and CFMEU).

 

 

UNSW Lecturer and Tutor
I’m also the course coordinator and lecturer for:

  • IEST5021: Corporations, Capitalism and Transforming Environments

  • IEST7200: Demystifying Environmental Law: From Regulation to Rights of Nature

I’m also a tutor with UNSW Business | School of Management and Governance for:

-       MGMT3201: Regulating Work and Employment


I’ve also worked for CCH and Thomson Reuters as a legal writer and editor, and with the University of Sydney as a sessional academic (tutor) teaching industrial relations.

Back when I was a University student I was the President of the National Union of Students, NSW Branch and National President of the National Organisation of Labor Students.
